The program was dedicated to the memory of the coal workers' writer İrfan Yalçın and the painter Nedim Günsür, who is remembered as a naive friend of the mine workers. On November 30, 1990, mine workers organized in the General Mining Labor Union (GMİS) went on strike. This year's program was dedicated to the memory of Tankut Öktem, the Sculptor of the Zonguldak Miner's Monument, and the recently deceased Photographer Sebastião Salgado.
The manager of the Exhibition Room , photographer İbrahim Akyürek, stated in his call for the week preparations that they wanted to establish a voluntary cultural bridge led by citizens between the coal basins of the world.
