The Exhibition Room has started its 26th year!
The Exhibition Room, which has been providing a culture and art environment in Zonguldak for 25 years, turned 26 on May 1, 2025.
The Exhibition Room hosted five photographs, one painting exhibition, one photography workshop, two talks and the Karaelmas Painters' Society Workshop in the last year. It brought 75 films together with its audience under the titles of "Tuesday Cinema" and "Saturday Documentaries". It held a photography presentation on a different subject every month via the internet.
During the last period, he continued to publish his traditional work, "Writers from Zonguldak, Writers from Zonguldak" and "Photography and Cinema". In addition, film programs about mine workers were prepared in memory of those who died in the 1983 Kandilli and 1992 Kozlu firedamp explosions.
The events that started on November 12, 2024, were prepared for the 40th anniversary
of the 84/85 long strike of the coal miners in Britain (UK) and the 34th anniversary of the 90/91 long strike of the coal miners in the Zonguldak (Turkey) Coal Basin.
The two-month long Photo/Film Week was dedicated to the memory of the coal workers' writer İrfan Yalçın and the painter Nedim Günsür, who is remembered as a naive friend of the miners.
